Attention all United Healthcare Community Plan PCP Providers

0 April 2, 2015

If you are a primary care provider that excepts United Healthcare Community Plan, you may not have paid too much attention to the patient’s primary care provider listed on the card. That will need to change starting August 1, 2015. United Healthcare will begin to deny claims after August 1, 2015 if the provider that rendered services is not the primary care provider. Below is a snippet from the United Healthcare Community Plan publication.

If you are a PCP, the program requires you to only provide services to members assigned to you or your medical group/tax ID number (TIN). Starting Aug. 1, 2015, UnitedHealthcare Community Plan may not pay for services rendered by a care provider not assigned to that member.
